What Should be in Your Luggage for Iceland

I’m currently sitting in JFK waiting for my flight to Reykjavik that was (not shockingly) delayed about an hour.  So, instead of sitting here and doing nothing I thought I’d share some of the most important things I’ve packed for my trip to Iceland.

Parka

In my opinion, the most important thing to bring to a country with average temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit is a substantial coat.  Mine is the Kensington Parka by Canada Goose.

Sweaters

I decided to only bring two sweaters I recently got from Boohoo, in case I want a heavier layer under my coat.

Ellie Fisherman Jumper

Ivy Oversized Jumper

Warm Leggings

I can only imagine how cold it’s going to be tomorrow night during the Northern Lights, so it would be smart to get some sort of fleece lined leggings.  Mine are the Nike Pro Hyperwarm Training Tights (I can’t seem to find the exact ones since I bought mine at the Outlet.)

Warm Socks

Socks are v important (even though I hate them).  Besides bringing my usual socks, I decided to pick up some thicker wool socks from LL Bean.

Boots

I know it seems obvious, but some people may not realize the importance of substantial boots.  Mine are from LL Bean.

Swimsuit & flip flops

People don’t realize they’ll probably need a bathing suit for the Blue Lagoon and other hot springs located throughout Iceland.  Flip flops are a plus (not just for hotel showers)

(I’m sorry but my swim suit is so old there’s no way I can link it) (my flip flops are from old navy that I know)

High Quality Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ve yet to experience it, but supposedly the water in the Blue Lagoon makes your hair feel super gross.  While it’s not necessary to bring bougie hair products, try to snag some free samples from stores like Ulta or Sephora like I did. (The brand I got was Matrix Biolage, the pink one)

So that’s about all I have time for, since now I’m sitting on the plane waiting for take off!  More Iceland posts will be coming when I come home, so stay tuned!

I also apologize for not having time to take my own pictures, there’s only so much one can do on a cell phone in an airport.

Until next time..

Nicole xx
